I will admit that I'm one of those people that refuse to put anything Christmas before Thanksgiving. Call me a scrooge or a grinch, but I like to celebrate Thanksgiving separately. Yes, I know being grateful for Jesus Christ is part of the reason we celebrate Christmas, but I like to focus solely on the Savior during Christmas, whereas Thanksgiving, for me, is more secular, I guess? I don't think I'm explaining it right...anyway, the short of it is that our Christmas decorations do not go up until the day after Thanksgiving.
Yes, it's Black Friday, but I don't participate in it, and Scott also has that day off, so out come the decorations!
Ryan was gone for the festivities, out shopping in the craziness of Black Friday with his friends. So it was up to the other three to get everything up.
Our tree is 12-ft. high and one of the main reasons why we wait until Black Friday to put the tree up; Scott has the day off and the only one that can lug it up from our basement storage, ha! We used to have a 6-ft. tree, but once we moved into our house, the tall ceiling was just begging for a taller one.
I won't put up an "after" picture because it's pretty much the same set up from years past (and I'm sure there's a pic somewhere on this blog), but it was a very satisfying feeling after everything was put up and arranged. This is my favorite time of year, so I'm so excited to finally have Christmas displayed inside our home. The countdown now begins!
Yay, Christmas!
