Fall Ball 2015

After cancelling the first game due to weather, Ryan played his first game for Fall Ball. The excitement was just vibrating off of him today; I wonder how he made it through the school day, lol.

They played against Bingham, and despite a bit of a slow start, they won 11-3. Ryan is still a middie (midfielder position), but his (new) coach (it's a different one from last season) gave him another responsibility. Now, bear with me, I can't recall exactly what it's called, but he'll also be "playing x"...I think that's the proper description. You would think after 3 years of this, I would know, but, I don't.

Anyway, Coach wants Ryan to play behind the goal when the opportunity presents itself. Ryan's dodging and defensive skills have improved to the point that his coach wants him to get more into the action, as it were. We'll see how it works out.

Here come the action shots....

Starting things off

Running towards the action

Exhibiting his passing skills

Going for a goal (unfortunately he missed)

Passing it off to a teammate who scored. Nice assist, Ryan!
Here's some shots of Ryan "playing x":
Going around the back of the goal....

Coming around.....

Taking the shot...only to have it bounce off of the pole!
Bummer!
In the past he's always been in front of the goal, playing. So we'll have to wait and see how this new position pans out. Way to go, Grizzlies! You're off to a great start!
